All equipment is in the storage shed at Pine Ridge. FWSA's shed is located in the far right corner of the parking lot and is the second metal shed away from Field 6. The team reps have the combination. To open the lock, dial the numbers, push lock into shed hard and then pull it out.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PICKING UP EQUIPMENT
The names of the fields are displayed on the left wall of the shed, along with a color code. Note that each piece of equipment (flags, net bag, liners, ladder, etc.) is also marked with that field's color code. WHITE PAINT IS USED TO LINE ALL FIELDS. When you pick up equipment for a specific field, sign it out on sign-up sheet on the right wall near the entrance door. It is on a clipboard, with pen attached. Please fill in ALL the information requested.
EC LAWRENCE & WAKEFIELD PARK EXCEPTION: EQUIPMENT IS LOCATED AT THE VERY FRONT OF THE SHED (next to Pine Ridge #4 equipment). These fields DO NOT require lining. You MUST use CONES or WEIGHTED FLAGS (NO SPIKES) If the fields ALREADY have nets or corners flags, DO NOT REMOVE. (Please note that so far these fields have been equipped with nets and corner flags although they are not expected. If one day they are not equipped, the home team needs to make sure FWSA cones are nets brought from the FWSA shed.)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR RETURNING EQUIPMENT
Equipment must be returned within 24 hours of your game. This is very important because some night fields share equipment with Saturday fields. When returning equipment, check the left wall for both the field name and the color code so as to leave your equipment in the correct field slot. Put the equipment back as follows:
• liner should rest with front wheels against the board on top of the wooden skid and the back wheels should be against the wall of the shed
• flags should be positioned against the shed wall, with spikes pointing down between the skid and the wall, and the liner resting against the flags so as to keep them in place
• ladder should lay flat on the skid with the net bag placed on top of it
• hand liner should be hung on the hook behind the liner.
Don't forget to sign in the equipment on the clipboard located on the left side of the shed near the entrance.
DAY GAMES
FIRST GAME — HOME TEAM: Sign out all equipment assigned to the field, including liners, 8-10 cans of paint, one bag of nets (two nets in each bag), ladder and corner flags assigned to your field. Line the field; give the nets and flags to the away team.
FIRST GAME — AWAY TEAM: Set up the nets and flags; may need a hammer for stakes. IF NETS ARE ON THE GOALS, DO NOT TAKE THEM DOWN. Place the net bag with the lining equipment.
LAST GAME — HOME TEAM: Take down one net and remove stakes (place in the bag) and two flags. Leave the Velcro strips attached to the nets. Check the net bag to make sure that our nets are on the goal. DO NOT TAKE DOWN NETS IF THEY ARE NOT OURS. Give our nets to away team.
LAST GAME — AWAY TEAM: : Take down one net and remove stakes (place in the bag) and two flags. Check the net bag to make sure that our nets are on the goal. DO NOT TAKE DOWN NETS IF THEY ARE NOT OURS. Return and sign in liners, unused paint, nets, ladder and corner flags to the storage locker within 24 hours after the game. Leave the equipment in the proper color-coded place in the shed.
NIGHT GAMES
HOME TEAM picks up equipment from the shed, signs it out and lines the field. AWAY TEAM puts up nets and flags. May need hammer for stakes. IF NETS ARE ON THE GOALS, DO NOT TAKE THEM DOWN. Place the net bag with the lining equipment. After the game, HOME TEAM and AWAY TEAM each take down two flags and one net with stakes and place it in the net bag. DO NOT TAKE DOWN NETS IF THEY ARE NOT OURS. AWAY TEAM returns all the equipment to the Pine Ridge shed within 24 hours. Remember to sign it in.
INVENTORY
The equipment will be inventoried Sunday evening to make sure that all of it has been properly returned and is ready for the coming week's games. Please remember the 24 hour rule! Forfeiture may be declared if a team fails to return liners, nets and flags within 24 hours of a scheduled game. YOU MAY NOT PICK UP EQUIPMENT MORE THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR GAME.
ALL TEAMS – ALL GAMES
1. If the game is called due to rain, the last teams playing are responsible for taking down and returning the equipment.
2. Our fields are the nicest around! Please help keep them this way by cleaning up all trash before leaving the field.
3. Alcohol is not permitted on Fairfax County Fields! This includes your fans!!
4. There is a ball pump in the storage locker. Remember to moisten the tip before inserting the needle in the ball.
5. Lost and Found items are put in a box in the front of the shed. If unclaimed at the end of the season, items will be removed and discarded.
